Its light grey when dry, dark grey when wet, so a better choice than black if you have grey gravel. Laid some on top of sharp stones and it didn't tear. I tried laying some on mud, tamping gravel down on it, then peeling it back. You could see that the mud hadn't come through the membrane. If its windy, you need to weight down edges and the middle until the gravel is down. Great choice, would buy again. Thanks!

It is grey and quite fluffy compared to other products I have used, so not strongly bonded. Not 'heavy duty' as in the description, so not really suitable for constructing a French drain, and may not last long against persistent and robust weeds like Dock, Dandelion and twitch grass. Lightweight use only I think. It is a similar price to heavier duty similar products, so worth paying a little extra for a more robust product.
