My dead cat
In use, the Rode Dead Cat Go kept most wind noises at bay-even during a strong breeze at the Duxford Airshow the results were acceptable. Acoustically, it was also quite transparent-not removing too much of the treble sounds though with audio remastering in post production any losses could easily be equalised. The inner foam sleeve supplied with the shield was a bit slack and flimsy so I used my previous Rode foam microphone cover inside the fur to give a tighter, more secure fit-by no means an easy task. RRØDE
This "Dead Cat" is excellent at reducing windage noise. However, it's not infallible. If the wind is strong enough, you'll still get noise. It's specifically designed for the "RØDE VideoMic GO", but would probably fit other brands of microphone provided their dimensions are similar.
