About this product

Product Information

Gust adds a bit of business sim to its alchemy-based RPG series in Atelier Annie: Alchemist of Sera Island. Players take on the role of Annie, a lazy young girl whose grandfather ships her off to Sera Island, where alchemists from around the world have trekked to compete in a resort development contest. Annie's slothful ways and lack of alchemy skills leave her unmotivated, until she discovers that the person who contributes the most to the resort gets to marry the wealthy Prince of Orde. The goal for gamers is to hone their skills to the point that they can win yearly alchemy contests, and then spend their winnings to hire a manager for the resort. The money players raise from their new facility ultimately determines how much they contribute to the project.

Gamers also earn money in the traditional Atelier manner: by accepting quests from the Adventure Guild, exploring the land for important materials, and synthesizing new items. Annie's skills do not lie in the arena of combat, so she must recruit a party to help her slay the various monsters that inhabit Sera Island. Battles unfold in a turn-based manner, with players choosing to attack, equip an item, or make use of unique skills. There are dozens of characters and helpful mascots to meet, and as work on the resort progresses, a number of different pay-to-play mini-games become available.

Exactly what I ordered, too bad DHL got a hold of the package and repackaged it, and put the wrong purchase price on it and I paid wayyyyy more duty than I was supposed to. F'N SCAMMERS People need to stop using DHL, makes me almost want to stop shopping outside of my country or stop shopping on eBay itself. Next time I'll see who the shippers are first before buying. Item was in amazing shape, and exactly as described, so I won't give negative feedback.

  • Worth EVERY Penny!!!

I've owned this game before , but lost it , So happy to get a New one. A Excellent (if Slightly silly) Game that Needs to be replayed multiple times just to see and do Everything in this games charming little world. The Spoken Dialogue is in Japanese but the English Text below are a fair translation and make the story easy and fun for non-Japanese speakers to follow also. I haven't taken it out of my 3DS since the day it arrived , if I lose this one i'll cry. Nice Sound and Graphics for a last Gen game But the "Fun Factor" is thru the roof , if something in this game doesn't make you smile every ten minutes you are frankly made of Stone. 10 out of 10

  • A cute, addictive game for Nintendo DS.

This is a very cute and surprisingly enjoyable game for the Nintendo DS. I bought it after playing Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland for the PS3 and I was not disappointed with Annie, despite the age of the game. Atelier Annie has you creating items, fighting monsters, and making friends in an addictive combination of RPG and micromanagement elements. The main goal of the game is to build and manage facilities on a developing island as you compete for the position of top alchemist. Annie can vary from relaxing to stressful depending on how much the player is hoping to achieve. There are multiple endings that can be earned depending on what you accomplished throughout your 3 years on Sera Island. It should be noted, however, that obtaining a perfect ending is significantly more ...

  • It's a good buy,nice price and it's a game that is pretty uncommo

I bought this product because it was listed as one of the few English Otome games. It's not like otome games I've played with making decisions/choices and ending up with a bachelor/ette but it's more a friendship thing. Ah I've only gotten to one playthrough since buying the game and it's pretty addicting. I like how evenw ith one playthrough there's still alot to make with alchemy to finish the collection of what can be created and gathered in the game.Bonus is the original Japanese voices in the game which adds to the quirkiness of the characters during monster battles. Also skip button! I can skip the intro when playing it through again. Compared to other otome games I've played well it's a bit more entertaining - it doesn't /feel/ like one. (Perhaps mislabeled on the site?) It's a bit ...

  • I just could not put my DS down for the life of me.

I bought this game because I'm a fan of NIS America so I decided to give it a go as well as a love for RPGs. Mind you, this is my first Atelier game that I actually played seeing as it was one of the earlier ones in the series just to get into the swing of things with this franchise. I just couldn't put the game down. I'll be honest that first time around if you think you can skip instructions and get it right on the first try, you're dead wrong. You have to pay attention so that you understand how do alchemy properly in this game. It's real important. That would be my only complaint is its slightly complicated ways of doing this but once you know what you're doing it's as easy as pie. Another possible dislike would be how fast days go by in the game with gathering items for your alchemy ...

  • Once you've started you can't stop :3

I really liked this game! X3 I finish it in 3 days -_-' I was kind of "in" to it hehe...Normally I only play RPG games but when the story doesn't seem to be interesting I stop playing them, but with whis game was different...the mode of playing is something fresh not too much stress and the interection you have with the other characteres of the game is quite amusing. :)
