Excellent!
This Blu-ray version is the best I have seen of "How the West was Won" on home video. I would really like to see the real Cinerama version again but since that is not likely this version on a big screen 4K set is beautiful! Everything on this DVD set is excellent. Many Thanks for making it available. It even comes in a unique book-like holder with many facts about making the movie. Nothing could top the true Cinerama process. Be sure and watch the Special Feature about Fred Waller's Cinerama story and learn a lot. Most of the overlap issues in previous video versions have been cleaned up and the "smilebox" version is also a good addition. Great audio tops off the set. This was the only true Cinerama "Hollywood" production made in the USA. It had many imitators and want-to-be's that changed the industry to "Wide Screen" but none of them including IMAX hold a candle to true Cinerama. Too bad.

One of the best!
Great epic film, saw this when it came out back in the 1960's. Wonderful story about several generations of an American family as they head west looking for a better life. Lots of star power: Carrol Baker, George Peppard, John Wayne, Debbie Reynolds, Gregory Peck, James Stewart, Henry Fonda and on and on! This film is restored and looks great. I highly recommend this movie!

Before computers there was CINERAMA.!
They just don’t make spectacular films like this anymore…….. Probably for one reason is there is no real talent in Hollywood anymore (and I come from the stage). It amazes me when I hear people talk about IMAX and how incredible it is but it can’t hold a candle to Cinerama. I own all the Cinerama (3 panel) productions and it’s a shame the past 3 generations don’t have a clue to how magnificent Cinerama is compared to today’s films. I am fortunate to have a 16x7.5 foot screen in my home theater to experience (in SmileBox) assimilation Cinerama. It really is awsome.
