I'm a little disappointed the description didn't say anything about this DVD being letterbox (I loathe letterbox) and curse the people that ever came up with it, I tried to zoom and my TV won't let let me get rid of the black bars, I feel that's 8 inches of wasted picture space, I just wish I would have known that it was in this format I avoid it like the plague, the DVD played wonderfully had a few more scratches for very good but not a skip, second spin please make the description accurate.

Great DVD - Love this Movie!
I loved this movie when I first rented it, and then I had to have it, hence my purchase on eBay. This dvd is in new, excellent condition. Love all the characters - lots of action - charming scenarios - it is one of my favorite movies! I can watch this movie over and over with family and friends - love it! The DVD played perfectly - still need to watch the 'Special Features' dvd.

The product I purchased for you is now part of my collection of movies that are coming out about the Harry Potter story. I am a fan of this type of magic and sorcery films. For this reason, I do not see any problems with the plot of the film, it is very much attached to the story of the main character and what the author wants them to understand.

More Depth and Dimension to the Harry Potter series,
a perfect segment of before the Harry Potter assemblage was even born.. Lots of fun a great romp and very magickal with fun and entertaining mystical beasts and even mystical beastie heroes. Who knows maybe the story of how you know who declared war on muggles and half bloods..will be next!

A great introduction to the world of Harry Potter
If you never watched Harry Potter or even if you did, this is a great stand alone movie that introduces the viewer to the world of Harry Potter and the use of magic. Like Star Wars, or the Lord of the Rings, this is an actual world one travels into, and this is a great way to visit and explore this amazing universe.

Very disappointed, read the book.
I was disappointed, the special effects happened too quickly, almost imperceptible. The story line was the same way. I had to watch it several times to get the correct take on the characters and story line.

I LOVE HOW IT ROLLS ALONG AFTER THE SEVENTH MOVIE OF HARRY POTTER. IT HAS LOADS OF COLORFUL CREATURES IN IT. SO MYSTERIOUS, INTRIGUING, YOU KIND OF GASPs YOUR HEART. THE CHARACTER THAT HOLD THE WAND ON THE COVER, HE IS SO GENTAL, KIND HEARTED. THE CHARACTERS IN HERE ARE GREAT. I JUST DOn'T KNOW WHAT COLIN FARREL HAS TO DO WITH THAT PART THAT HE IS IN. I GUESS HE IS PART OF THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC. BUT OVER ALL SOME PEOPE IN HERE ARE HAVE TO HIDE WHO THEY ARE AROUND MUGGLES. BUT THE MAN WITH WAND NEWT HE DOESN'T CARE.

Enjoyable magical journey into another time
As an animal lover, I really enjoyed this story based on a young wizard coming to NYC with a suitcase full of creatures. His gentle compassionate nature was a striking contrast from the people he encounters. There are several subplots. This movie needs to be watched carefully from beginning to end (in order to really realize what is happening).
