"West's wonderfully imaginative and slightly disturbing books are still in print - even available in eBook editions - and hopefully a new generation of readers will be persuaded to try the novels." - Telegraph (UK)

Synopsis
Nathanael West was only thirty-seven when he died in 1940, but his depictions of the sometimes comic, sometimes horrifying aspects of the American scene rival those of William Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor. A Cool Million , written in 1934, is a satiric Horatio Alger story set in the midst of the Depression. The Dream Life of Balso Snell (1931) was described by one critic as "a fantasy about some rather scatological adventures of the hero in the innards of the Trojan horse.", Nathanael West was only thirty-seven when he died in 1940, but his depictions of the sometimes comic, sometimes horrifying aspects of the American scene rival those of William Faulkner and Flannery OConnor.

- 2***1 (399)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseI did the buy 2, get 1 free sale and all the books were shipped together very securely. They were doubled bagged in bubble wrap envelops, and arrived very quickly. The books are in excellent condition; better than I expected coming from a second hand. The package also included a print out of my order that detailed the quality and any appearance issues noted by the seller. Overall, this was a very informative and transparent transaction.
- e***r (1096)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseGreat price on a recently published vegetarian cookbook. The condition exceeded my expectations-I would describe it as like new! My order arrived practically overnight in double layered packaging with thick bubble wrap. I’ve enjoyed browsing through many inviting recipes accompanied by high quality photographs…can’t wait to try some out! A++++ seller!
- s***o (184)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThis bookseller is the best of the big companies that I have experienced thus far. The books cost a little bit more than others but are worth it as they’re delivered in almost mint condition. (No bloodstains or rodent feces like some others I won’t name here) The time that it took for me to receive my order was exceptional compared to other massive bookstores. It was as if they actually cared about me getting my order in a timely manner. The books were double-wrapped neatly.
