    Maggie and Jiggs In A Superlative Compilation!

    Among many collections of George McManus's signature newspaper comic series, this is, without question, the finest. Not only are the color reproductions exemplary , but the book shows to best advantage just what a great draughtsman McManus was. His sense of line and design deserve much closer attention and this one book serves this purpose admirably. There is also a good deal of Irish American ethnic history in Bringing Up Father and the book has done a marvelous job of making the reader aware of its significance within the strip. All in all, I wholeheartedly and unhesitatingly recommend this volume
