About this product

Product Information

BioWare's critically acclaimed action-RPG debuts on Xbox One with a new protagonist and setting in Mass Effect: Andromeda. The story of Andromeda begins between the second and third entries of the original Mass Effect trilogy, when each of the four Citadel Council races agree to send 20,000 people on a 600-year journey to help colonize planets in the Andromeda Galaxy. Gamers play as Sara Ryder or her twin brother Scott (both characters can be given customized first names and appearances) as they explore new planets, form relationships, and engage in real-time combat.

Ryder can travel around the galaxy in a ship called Tempest, while planetary exploration takes place in an all-terrain vehicle from which players can scan for resources. Dialogue between characters plays an important role in Andromeda, with gamers choosing from four response types and occasionally an action prompt, and conversations may contain moral decisions that affect Ryder's relationships, some of which may grow romantic. Unlike previous games in the series, players are not bound by specific character classes. As they complete missions they can level up and unlock dozens of combat, tech, and biotics skills, and more than 300 skill upgrades. Gamers will also eventually unlock seven different profiles that add more bonuses to their preferred method of playing, and they can switch between four different profiles at any time.

Combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda was designed to be faster and more fluid than in previous titles, with a new dynamic cover system and a jetpack that lets players hover in midair. Gamers can use guns, melee attacks, and special skills to attack foes, and they get help in battle from six squadmates, each with three active skills and two passive skills. Players can order their squad around the battlefield, choose how they want their skills to evolve, and they can also team up for special Power Combo attacks. Multiplayer fans can also join friends for co-op action.

This Deluxe edition includes the full game as well as the Deep Space Explorer armor, a skin for the all-terrain vehicle, the Pathfinder casual outfit, Scavenger armor, a set of four unique weapons, a pet Pyjak, a multiplayer booster pack, the multiplayer deluxe launch pack, and a digital soundtrack.

    Why the hate?

It's not perfect (what game is?), but when people say they still very much enjoyed it, I now believe them. After playing through Mass Effect 1,2, & 3 multiple times and with all DLC, I can honestly say it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. It's gotten a lot of 8/10s, that's pretty accurate. Of course I started the game after installing all patches, first...

    GREAT POTENTIAL

This company made the same evaluation of buyers many companies do today, just push out an unfinished product, then fix along the way after they have the consumers money in hand. This new Mass Effect is fun but has tons of glitches, like old school glitches, like floating characters, vehicles getting stuck,.. silly stuff like that. One the other hand you can see great potential in this game and it kills you to see a game half done. My advice,..... wait till ALL the glitches are fix before you buy this new, if curious like i was, buy it used so you can see what i mean by glitches galore.

  • Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect: Andromeda is a good game, though it has its share of flaws. Mostly technical glitches and wonky animation. The games storyline is a little overambitious, with an abundance of side missions to distract you. The menu system could have used a bit more refinement, as I found myself constantly scrolling through pages and pages to find what I needed. That being said, it's very easy to lose yourself in the story, and is well worth a purchase. There's definitely enough to keep you busy for dozens of hours, and that's not including the multiplayer. Much like Mass Effect 3, the multiplayer is a wave-based mode, with various objectives to complete. As far as horde-style matches go, it's one of the best there is. The game allows you to purchase randomized upgrade packs with real world currency, but you can also earn them in game by completing matches. With the amount of content in the game, Mass Effect: Andromeda is well worth the price.

  • Fun, great and engaging game for many hours of Bioware enjoyment !

Although the fate and status of Shepard is not addressed in much detail, the game and all of it's many interesting sidequests allow close to 200 hours of gameplay, providing a compelling storyline and engrossing overall Mass Effect storyline development. There are some occasional glitches but generally it is solid, stable, high res gameplay with good music and fun plot developments with far ranging choice consequences.

  • Another great game to the franchise

I don't get why the bad reviews ... The face animation could have been way better and more realistic . I agree. However during game play your not even going to notice cause this is a fps game. The character customization were better more specific on ME 2)3... but the graphics detail and HDR are far superior in Andromeda which makes it worth it IMO . Way more realistic . Menus screen and layout take a little getting used to along with weapon and suit upgrades but that being said .... The story line I could car less about ... This is a fun alien space fps game . There's is alot of scene dialogue but you can skip through quickly and make a choice for response . Bought this new/ never played and won on a bid and got it for a steal of a price for price for deluxe edition . The game is 3 years old but graphic open world look rich and detailed and bold right colors and lighting effects .I've Been playing for about hour and a half and I really like it. If I wanted to care about a story line plot mainly I'd just watch a regular movie o. Blu Ray or something . This is a video game that's all it is . critics over think and criticize over ridiculous things . Update improved face animations some and squashed bugs like with any new game release.

  • Great Game

Some people complain about the expressions but honestly the story line and game play more than make up for the lack of emotions shown. I will admit some parts are difficult to get from a to b using the nav points. Hours and hours of game play of you play the priority missions straight through you can still pick up the side missions afterwards. Months of engaging play if you do all the side missions first.

  • Perfect

Well I just got the game and it's in great condition. It came a few days early which is awesome and was rapped well. I haven't actually tried out the game yet but from what I can see, there are no scratches and should work perfectly. The code was also not used like it said.

  • Pretty good, not as visually striking as mass effect 3

The gameplay is great and the graphics are fine. I just expected more of a evolution of the mass effect trilogy with better looking graphics. i would have been disappointed if i had spent 50 bucks when it first came out.
