Is this the Deftones' best album?

This album is great from the beginning to the end. Opener "Swerve City" pummels the listener with a simple yet brutal riff and balances it out with quieter, more atmospheric verses. "Leathers", "Graphic Nature", "Gauze", "Rosemary" and "What Happened To You" contain both heaviness and texture at the same time, which is not an easy task to pull off. "Entombed" has a nice blend of loud and quiet with some very catchy guitar riffs. "Tempest" is a mix of quiet atmospheric parts with louder, distorted guitar. This album doesn't have a bad song on it (it doesn't have a song that isn't either great or very near-great) and is probably the Deftones' most consistent album. Chino sounds great, with his soaring vocals on songs like "Swerve City" and "Leathers". He is one of the best singers on the ...

    • The album that finally made me into a Deftones fan!

Never been much of a Deftones fan, but I can't stop listening to this album! Before this I loved certain tracks off of White Pony, but by and large their music had too much screaming for me. This album is the perfect blend of haunting melodies, ambient sounds, pop hooks, bone crushing riffs, and screams just when I want them.
