Straight is okay if parallel but, doing a "L" transfer, e.g. bed to wheelchair and vice-versa it's scary and edges bite into flesh. Best of this board is notches to steady and limit slip by putting wheelchair posr as to stop traveling like a surfboard. The hazard with front wheels moving during transfer I'd the hazard. Only improvement would be holes to fit seat belt receiver.
