    Wonderful story of a true heroic event

    It is a true story of loyal and brave men who honor their murdered leader by taking the life of the murderer, even though they know it will cost all of them their lives they exact their revenge. The love story interwoven in the tale gives a softness and romantic element to the grim story with a sad end. Keanu Reeves does a very good job of portraying the half breed hero in love with the Japanese royal lady. I was not familiar with any of the Japanese actors but I felt they did a very good job of playing their roles. The scenery of the Japanese countryside was lovely and the story action packed. I recommend this highly.

    Interesting ( and somewhat disappointing) remake of a classic.

    This is not the original story. it is a modern telling of the Japanese classic. This movie has magic, witches and a white guy. The additions to the original story in my opinion don't add to the story but take away from it. The pure story is great without the exrta modern stuff (in my opinon) should be viewed by anyone watching this film. Don't get me wrong, This is still a good movie. It is just not the outstanding stand alone movie it was made to be.

    Too much flash added to true story

    While the movie has some good action sequences and beautiful shots, it is not true to the 47 Ronin legend. The addition of witches and magic spells aren't needed to make the story exciting. Also the addition of a guy who is white is ridiculous. Although, Reeves may be part Chinese, he's hardly Asian and shouldn't be one of the 47 samurai. If you don't mind the fabrication, it's a pretty good samurai movie with a sweet love story thrown in. Worth a watch.

    If you like quality ,heartfelt, and action packed movies like Edge of Tomorrow, Tron Legacy, and Cowboys vs Aliens I suggest this one. It has heart, great action, superior acting, and a gripping story. I hope we love and tell our legends. Overall AMAZING

    Most entertaining film depicting the culture

    Great film with wonderful, real Chinese characters, a fine plot, excellent oriental elements and seamless integration of the technological creations. I didn't think this was Keanu Reeves best performance but it didn't detract from the story. I do recommend this film.
