    Great watches (but be aware)

    HMT watches (Hindustan Machine Tools), traditional in size and appearance, have a real magic about them. The vast majority available on eBay are redialled "frankenwatches" made up from vintange HMT parts to create a running watch. Some run better than others but I've often been lucky; several of mine work well. At £15-£30 it can be a chance worth taking. Some replacement dials can be really nice. It's all but impossible to purchase new HMT watches from the factory (very limited production and they sell only within India) and Indian "frankenwatches" are becoming a tradition of their own. Just be aware of what you're buying. You'll get a slim, 36mm stainless steel case, HMT's hand wind movement based on a Citizen design, usually a replacement (not genuine) dial and, sometimes, a working ...

    Don’t waste your money

    Watch stops every free minutes, gains lots of time I mean hrs. Strap will not stay shut. Although it looks nice that about it. Also it needs winding more than once a day., but what can you expect for the money.

    Beautiful Little Watch at a Crazy Low Price

    Finding a mechanical watch with classic looks at a reasonable price is nearly impossible for most, however, this watch is not only gorgeous on the wrist but is a great little runner with vintage appeal. The winding mechanism is brilliant and the finish is beautiful. I've received a lot of compliments on this time piece and I couldn't be happier with it, especially at such a low price!

    Possible problem?

    Much beter quality than the Chinese ones. Keeps good time. The glass & the gold surround clicks into place on to the watch body. Mine fell off. There's a flat chamfer that has to line up with the winder. If you get this lined up properly it will click back into place and will be firmly atached. If you can pry it off with your thumb nail it's not properly aligned. My other 2 Sona watches gave no trouble. Update - two of my watches have shed their glass now. If you pull the wrist strap tightly, say when you're undoing it or catching it on a sleeve the watch flexes and forces the glass off. You can't feel the watch body move if you apply pressure but it must be just enough to force it off.

    reliable and comfortable

    as a watch collector I have a number of watches Chinese swiss Japanese & Russian but the watch I find myself wearing the most is my trusty hmt I find it is really comfortable keeps very good time for a mechanical watch and for less than the price of a cheap crappy quartz I honestly cant believe how good these hmt watches are and the one I wear every day has been running none stop for over 2 years and it hasn't missed a beat
