    Sexy and engaging symbolism a la Cool World (Bakshi, Kim Basinger)

    This is one of those stories whose premise is so absurd that you can't take it literally, yet it is intelligent and engaging enough that your right brain is totally fascinated, while your left brain is having trouble figuring out what the premise is, exactly. (By premise I mean historical premise; the psychology is crystal clear.) This is a movie to be watched at least twice, with your best friend and soulmate, and to be discussed at length. P.S. The three ugly guys on the DVD cover are totally misleading: the movie is not about them. Almost as misleading is the word Congress: this has nothing to do with legislature. You will encounter a lot of hand-drawn animation, in a style reminiscent of early Max Fleischer (for its curviness) and of Winsor McCay (for its architecture, crowds, and ...
