    A Vegas Legend

This CD has all of the major hits of Bobby Darin. It starts with his early POP tunes and then shows his transformation into a Las Vegas king. As you listen to most of the songs, you can easily imagine them being sung in a casino lounge in the mid 60's. He could swing with the best of them.

  • Most critical review

Only three decent song. The rest of the singles were mostly forgettable.

Unfortunately Bobby Darins talent was wasted on a lot of silly songs like "Splish Splash." He had several hits but most were forgettable. The only decent songs on this album are "Dream Lover," "Mack the Knife," and of course "Beyond the Sea." The rest are bland tunes, or else silly 50s teeny-bopper singles like "Splish Splash," "Queen of the Hop," and "What'd I Say." He could have been like Sinatra, but his song choices (or those of his record label) did not show his potential. Except for the three songs, I found the album mostly annoying and not pleasant to listen too (especially compared to any of Sinatra's).
