THERE IS NO WAY TO ROOT AT&T XT1097! You may root (unblock bootloader) with some other 1097 models, but NOT AT&T! Very frustrating. Yes, it is possible to make some experiments with modem firmware update to change the model to 1093, but there are too many posts about loosing any contact with modem/ phone radio module. So it is high risky procedure. POOR RADIO module sensetivity or transmission power. Doesn't see the network in Europe where my previous Samsung Galaxy Nexus is fine. Need to buy GSM Booster. This was some kind of upset: doesn't see the network in shops, markets, homes, everywhere with poor signal quality. Even tried to find some portable GSM signal Booster, but nothing. In all other aspects the phone is really nice. Infrared sensors are good. Voice recognition software is fine indoors - good enough to ask for time and find the phone in the room. Far from perfect for a Call command, but still fun. Webbrowsing speed is fine. Camera speed is very good. Camera quality is enough for outdoors light. Size is fine - just 5..7 mm longer then previous Samsung Galaxy Nexus. OTA Update can be simply stopped by Motorola OTA application stopping after every reboot. Battery is ok - works some 15 hours: 5 screen on, 10 screen off according to Battery Monitor Pro. Result is not perfect but satisfactorily.Read full review

I got this phone to replace the Moto X that I had before this one. It was the exact same model. I got my original Moto X from the AT&T Store and it lasted me about a year and a half before it quit working. I liked the Moto X, so I decided to get another one. I got this one in October and it started off working fine. I didn't have any problems with it until late December. It randomly stopped charging with my Motorola charger. I used my sister's Samsung fast charger because that was the only charger that would work. I tried others, but nothing. My phone also started losing battery unusually fast. Now, the Samsung charger won't keep it charged. I don't think it was worth over $100 for a phone that only lasted 2 months.

This phone has a big screen but is smaller than other smaller phones like the Nexus 5. As a Google designed phone it is not loaded with bloatware, other than five useless AT&T apps. Good camera, battery life OK. It lacks a micro SD card but I still can store a lot of pictures a Nd music.

I had a Motorola Razr M, but a year and a half into it, I was ready to throw it against the wall. I was hesitant about getting another Motorola phone, but this was the best decision I've ever made. THE GOOD -Features: The Moto X has awesome features like hand motions. Need to check your phone while it's on your desk? Wave your hand over it to look at the time and notifications. Getting a phone call during a meeting? Wave your hand over it to silence it. Need to turn on your flashlight? Flick your phone twice and it turns right on - same motion to turn it off. Need your camera fast? Twist your wrist (not painfully) twice to turn it on. -Size: This is important because I'm a girl and our pants aren't particularly known for big pockets. This just fits in my pocket without falling out and without having to dig for it. -Aesthetic: I got the white/bamboo model and it's absolutely gorgeous. If you get one with a swanky back, make sure you get a case with a clear backing to show it off. -Additional apps: I hate when phones come with unnecessary apps - the Moto X is refreshingly void of most crappy useless apps, giving me more room to store and download what I want. THE BAD -Size: As I said, this JUST fits in my pocket. THE UGLY -There's absolutely nothing ugly about this phone.Read full review

Perfect size - big enough to be easy to use, and small enough to fit in your hand. Designed when Moto was owned by Google, an excellent Android implementation without clumsy attempts to differentiate. Came with KitKat, but easily updated to Lollipop for the latest features. The screen is super sharp, and made with Gorilla glass for rough use. Bought it for Tracfone BYOP; a year of service is about $100, including texts, data and phone minutes.
