Lily Bainbridge's mother died six months ago and since then her stepfather has been trying to marry her off to the owner of a mine.....one that he wants to establish a partnership with. Lily is desperate to find a way out so she writes a false suicide note and leaves it in her room, and then she chops off her hair and sets off for London disguised as a boy. On her way there she meets Ethan Andarton, Marquis of Vessey. Ethan, is co-incidentally, on his way to his own arranged marriage. Lily doesn't fool him for a minute as a boy but he pretends she does. Even after they go their separate ways, the Marquis can't get Lily off his mind and Lily finds herself equally smitten with him. Will a chance encounter bring them back together? You bet! Ms. Warren also wrote another super romance called "My Fair Mistress" and so I was delighted to find she had added another "mistress" book to her collection. In this new book you'll find that desire can overcome even the best of intentions.Read full review
I enjoyed this story whole heartedly! As I was reading I could imagine myself making the some of the same choices as Lily. Tracy Anne Warren is a wonderful writer and has the ability to take you through a gammet of emotions throughout her stories. I would definitely recommend this book it's a great read!!
I bought this book because I had read the other 3 that went along with this book. I really enjoyed the storyline and the way it was written. The writer is very descriptive and creative and she fits humor into her stories, which I like. I would recommend it to others who enjoy a good historical romance.
