Mike Allred's acclaimed comic book GRAFIK MUZIK (from Dark Horse) comes to the screen in with this action/adventure/dark comedy. After federal agents Mike Mattress (Tate Donovan) and Dean Crept (William Forsythe) are murdered and sent to Hell, they escape, make it back to Earth, and try to do good deeds in order to make it to Heaven. Their first case involves a woman (Vanessa Angel) who believes her husband it trying to kill her. As they work on the case, they also try to find their own killer--but the Devil (Robert Goulet) is hot on their trail and is trying to snatch them back to Hades.

    And I do love campy. I bought it specifically because I do enjoy the author Michael Allred and all his works and wanted to see the filmed version of his comic. I sincerely doubt the enthusiasm his commentary describes. Comic fans, please note: according to the commentary, this movie was made before the G-Men From Hell storyline in Darkhorse. The comic version is significantly different. Story wise, this is quite different from the Madman yarn, besides the obvious omission of Madman himself. Cheetahman, the red herring/deus machina background figure in the comic, turns out to be more of a lesser distraction in this role, sadly. Dr. Boiffard seems to be channeling Christopher Lloyd.
