Action taken...engine flush new oil and filter. Knock still present. Put a bottle of Wynn's injector cleaner in with about a quarter of a tank of diesel. Ran it until fuel light came on. As if by magic after about 200 miles knock has now gone. Can't say if it's the injector cleaner or the engine flush or both but the knock has gone. Put second bottle in today with £20 of diesel.
