This book saved my life! I was sick with Diabetes type 2 and a friend gave me his book. I have followed the plan and read most of Barry's books. He is a brilliant man! I have since got rid of the sickness side affects the diabetes was giving me and lost 25 pounds. I have normal sugar levels now and don't need to worry about testing anymore every day. There are so many other good things happening to me. I know if everyone got on this plan there would be almost no need for hospitals as we know them today. If you have an illness and can't get rid of it through the doctor...try this doctor "Sears" and you will be better.
LOVE this series of books! I have been looking for a correct formula for how much my body actually needs(calories,fat,protein etc). I have been exercising(weight training, cardio) for years and have built lean muscle but just couldn't seem to lose the fat that covered them. On this diet, I have lost the recommended 1 1/2 lbs per week and the fat is just melting off! Many diets are drastic and are not a "life plan". This one is easy to follow after you get the hang of it and retrain your brain. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who honestly wants to live a healthy and happy life. To reitterate, this is not a diet, or a fad, this is a LIFE PLAN for good health! Losing weight is just one of the many perks:)!

The book is a great start into a new way of looking at what you eat and how it effects you. Education is everything as this book explains how your body processes foods and with this knowledge you can make smarter decisions to what you eat. THIS IS NOT A DIET AS IT IS MORE OF A SMARTER WAY TO EAT. I have lost 45 pounds that I have been trying to loose for at least the last 10 years and feel great.
