Gentle Genius of a series.
If you have not seen it on TV then it is a must watch for binge fun. Ben Elton at the top of his game for wit and gentle satire on many levels. I enjoy this little poke at history and antidote to British jingoistic nonsense. It manages to take itself not too serious whilst making one or two wonderfully telling points. Engagingly acted with some fine sitcom performances. David Mitchell was an inspired casting! If you have not seen it on TV then it is a must watch for binge fun. Excellent script , great acting , every character brings something different to the series : a little knowledge of Shakespeare's world and plays useful but not essential , enjoy it for the wit , the costumes , but above all the sparkling interaction between characters ! ! !
