    Superior to the standard Arthur issue & with a 'Dave Davies Solo Album'.

    My old copy of Arthur had an annoying jump mid-way through Shangri-La, so I wanted a replacement anyway. This 2 CD was appealing as it had the bonus tracks from the time presented as Dave Davies' solo album on disc two. Of course, disc one with the remastered 1969 Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) album remastered justifies the cost alone. The Kinks' second-best album after the classic 'Village Green' preceding it IMO, just ahead as the following album, 1970's 'Lola'. Tracks like Arthur, Australia and Shangri La are long by Kinks' standards, with Australia around seven minutes of excellence. The whole concept album is consistently good and pleasingly dated in terms of lyrical references. This disc includes non-album singles King Kong and Plastic Man. Disc two's 'Dave ...
