    Great Value Diamond Core Drill & Arbour

    Needed to bore a 52mm hole in a paving slab for a rotary clothes drier. This diamond core drill did the job a treat, nice clean hole and plenty wear still left on the teeth. Price is great from this supplier as it includes the arbour, a guide drill bit and the tapered rod to extract it as well as the diamond core borer - you need all of these to use with your SDS drill.

    Not for me

    Purchased this core drill in the hope of cutting through cavity wall Which works out at 2 4inch bricks,unfortunately the bricks from our 70s house were too tough for the drill to penetrate. Looks like a good core drill bit and could possibly be useful for softer material.. Just not for for me

    Neat holes through underground brick walls and concrete paving.

    Bought this for a one-off job to fit a 40mm pipe between two 24cm thick walls in a trench 50cm deep. The bit made very neat holes but owing to the small size of the teeth and dampness of the brick it clogged up a lot and needed to be cleaned every few mm. Subsequently used it again to drill a hole through a concrete paving slab - again a very neat hole and less problem with clogging. Bit is still in good condition after 8 hours of continuous drilling.

    Did what it needed to

    Used this to get through 350mm double skin brick wall of a Victorian house to run a 40mm waste pipe from a bathroom. Used with a cheap Argos SDS drill (with clutch - essential) & it worked fine. Not sure how it would stand up to repeated use, but for the occasional job I'm not sure the professional quality bits would offer a great deal more. Thanks
