Hycote treatment for Squeaky noise from serpentine belt.
My car suffers from squeaks and squeals from the serpentine belt. No matter how many times I took it to the garage, they could not stop it. I even changed the belt for new and it was the same. I tried this spray and immediately the noises stopped and it ran quietly and sweetly. This all happened five years ago, and I am now on my second belt. Initially, use heavy spray around, and then a quick spray here and there to keep the belt running perfectly. It even conditions it. I have just run out of the original can, and this is the second can. That is five years on one can - that is how cheap it is. It is a tacky glue type substance which can easily be cleaned off with white spirit I love it and can only recommend it. My garage did not recommend it initially, but they couldn't fix the ... My garage did not recommend it initially, but they couldn't fix the noise, so why not us it I thought! I use the thin tube to direct the spray to the top pulley, aiming it closely while running. It is then dispersed all over the belt and completely stops any noises instantly. I recommend that if you have this noise, first check that the belt is not unnecessarily slack, but also not too tight. You can find this information in the workshop manual. You also need to check that any tension adjustment device is working properly. If everything is fine and you still get noise, as I do, use the product. I have found the belt hard to get to so I got the garage to make sure the belt tension was absolutely correct on a routine service. They informed me that over tightening this belt risks straining the pulley bearings which could be an expensive fix if they need to be replaced. Make sure therefore that you do not under any circumstances, over tighten the tension to stop the squeaking. Remember to change the belt within the recommended time period, according to the workshop manual just in case it snaps, which could be disastrous. If you do not know or are uncertain how old it is, for instance if you just bought the car, change it if it looks at all worn, or there is any small crack or any irregularity at all. Get a garage to check it if you cannot do it yourself. These belts are relatively cheap to buy and they can squeak because they are old stock or because the design of the car makes the belt quite long or if the tension is incorrect. Some makes are prone to this problem, and you can find if your model is on line easily.

Essential if you have a slipping service belt. Simply spray on the inside of the belt. The applicator straw could do with being a bit longer to reach tricky places, but it's the standard industry size. I found the bulk buy (3 cans) to be good value, cheaper than I could find elsewhere. Would buy again.

Perfect to fix turbo trainer squealing.
I used a little bit of this to lubricate the belt inside my Tacx Flux S which developed a squeak. After spraying on a bit of this it was fixed. I have loads left over for when it needs another application.
