"Spartacus: Vengeance" is the complete Season 2 Blu-ray three-disc set of the action-adventure series Spartacus. The television show was created by Steven S. DeKnight, and it was shot on location in New Zealand. This action-adventure series follows the story of Spartacus and his fellow gladiators who escape the brutal gladiatorial training school. The gladiators are able to escape after killing their master Batiatus in Season 1, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Spartacus: Vengeance" follows these gladiators seeking revenge on the men who condemned their families to slavery. The leading actor is Liam McIntyre as Spartacus, replacing the late Andy Whitfield. The series also features Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Viva Bianca as Ilithyia, and Peter Mensah as Oenomaus. Oenomaus was formerly known as Doctore when he was a taskmaster, but by Season 2, he is a trusted ally to Spartacus. This three-disc set offers all 10 episodes of Season 2. Bonus features on this Blu-ray disc include the making of "Spartacus: Vengeance", bloopers, famous last words, and a teaser to "Spartacus: War of the Damned".

    Getting even the gladiator way.

    This is one of the 3 seasons plus a Prequel. I was a bit put off by the violence at first but when I got into the plot I couldn't stop watching. Excellent portrayal of the despots of Rome and the men required to fight to the death for their sport. I really got into the characters and didn't want the story to end. It's more than a getting even with the bad guy, it's about the hope for a better future that everyone has. Lot's of steamy scenes, action, betrayal, love and loyalty. Get all three seasons and the prequel and be prepared to be swept into the lives of slaves during the decadent days of Rome.
