We've got a lot to learn from Mr. Rogers.
It's not that it's better than expected. It's just that it's better than 'ok'. You have to keep in mind that Mr. Rogers, as explained in the recently released movie, is wholesome and good- not frenetic and uncaring as modern television is for kids, and, come to think of it, for the rest of us. But we're used to it, and so are our kids. In other words, Mr. Rogers seems boring because we're used to the crazy energy served up by the media. What to do? Wonderful selection!
We are really enjoying this Mister Rogers collection. I have 2, 8 and 9 year old boys and they all like it! I enjoy remembering my childhood too. The episodes are all really great. I can’t think of any better way they could be presented or ordered as there were so many during the shows running. It’s kind of cute that you go from one to the next and Mr. Rogers might go from 50 to 60 years old before your eyes! They aren’t all like that though and the order doesn’t really matter anyway. I know there specific Rogers DVD collections for anger and sadness if you are more interested in a certain topic. Overall, I recommend this very highly to anyone who grew up with Mr. Rogers and wants to reconnect and introduce him to your children or grandchildren.
