I'm not sure if this was pre-existing damage or if it was due to the way it was packed for shipping, as nothing about box damage was noted in the item description and It arrived with a moderately thick wrapping of bubble wrap as the only packing. Marantz-always great quality and excellent performance. A cut above the rest. And it looks good. Did I mention it has a 24-bit DAC providing a theoretical over 130 dB of dynamic range. I can play all my CDs and mp3 on disk or from thumbdrive. I'm satisfied. One down-side; the AC cord that was provided was the wrong type. The one provided did not have a hole for the ground connection prevent it from mating to the unit. Fortunately the 3-prong cords are common and I have lots of idle ones around.Marantz-always great quality and excellent performance. A cut above the rest. And it looks good. First time bought a Marantz CD player that I've been longed for a long time. Ended up so disappointed.
A defect product, "No disc" error showed all the time. No opportunity to check the sound at all. Return for a replacement. Don't know when can I receive the new one. So disappointed!

Just updated my old Hi-Fi to newer technology piece by piece and wanted the best CD source possible yet still within my means. The Marantz CD6007 fit the bill perfectly. I can hear the difference compared to a run of the mill CD/Blu-Ray player using a Coaxial Digital cable to help eliminate another weak link. Note: Wish it came in silver instead of Black to match my Outlaw RR 2160MKII Retro receiver. Absolute Audiofile bargain
I have been a lifelong Audiofile, and had a very expensive CD player fail on me recently. This player could less than a quarter of the player that failed, but the sound quality is like night and day. The Marantz is smooth and balanced, yet extremely articulate and detailed. Never even slightly harsh even with difficult recordings.
