Included in Q Magazine's "90 Best Albums of the 1990s.", Ranked #5 in Mojo's "100 Modern Classics" -- "Scintillating.", Included in Rolling Stone's "Essential Recordings of the 90's.", Bloody Essential - "...Oasis might last as long as the Smiths or shine as brightly and briefly as Suede...", Included in Mojo's "25 Best Albums of 1994" - "...full of fire. Oasis didn't just seize the day, they shagged it senseless and then took it out boozing.", 4 Stars - Excellent - "...their collective gift: superheated, brazen guitar married to wonderfully daft and striking lyrics delivered with guttersnipe self-possession. A rutting mess of glam, punk, and psychedelia...", "...yet another young, thrusting, white guitar band, a perfect hybrid of the Stone Roses' sun-kissed pop sense and Happy Mondays' thuggish laddishness...", Ranked #24 in Q's "100 Greatest British Albums", Ranked #11 in Q's "Best 50 Albums of Q's Lifetime", 9-Excellent Plus-"...Oasis Have Encapsulated the Most Triumphant Feeling....Yeah, That Good...", "...Heavier on guitar than Suede or Blur, they're the heavier outfit. And with youth's blithe arrogance, they see the world solely in black and white...", Ranked #1 in Nme's List of the `Top 50 Albums of 1994.'

For me this album is completely different on vinyl. In a good way. You hear things you just don't hear on the CD. Some things you don't hear. But EX.X

  • Not since the sex pistols

I was around when the sex pistols came onto the scene and every spotty teenager took to their music because it typified the anger felt at the time of the suppressed youth. Oasis did exactly the same thing only better, they bought us a sound that embraced not only the youth but the thirty somethings who still wanted to be 18. This album was like the first taste of sex, the first time you tasted chocolate. It is a shame that they used two discs but the difference between vinyl and cd is perfectly demonstrated with this album. On vinyl this band are playing in your living room where as with the cd it’s like they are playing next door.

  • Great music but a bit annoying to be spread over 2 discs

This is a classic Britpop album, and the vinyl recording is great. My only problem is that it's really annoying to have it split over 2 discs - this means 3 changes of record just to listen to all the songs. Surely this album would have fit onto one disc?

  • A present for a happy friend

My friend was over the moon as she didn't have a vinyl copy of the album.
