The relationships between the characters are what make the show unique, with interesting bonds developing like the one between vulnerably hardheaded Christine (Sandra Oh in an Emmy Award-winning role) and the show's main protagonist Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Self-pitying, stubborn, selfless, and determined all at the same time, each character plays a crucial role in the show's pleasing ensemble feel. Rather than standing on its own, each medical challenge sheds some light on the doctors' personal experiences, bringing the hospital environment to a refreshingly relevant level. While the series may not be the most realistic medical drama on television, it is certainly the most compelling and entertaining, containing such juicy plotlines as love triangles, affairs between coworkers, and secret crushes and romances. A thoughtful soundtrack full of indie artists like Rilo Kiley helps give the show its youthful tone, while narration by Ellen Pompeo's character highlights each episode's themes, helping to bridge the gap between the show's lighthearted issues and more somber ones. This release contains every episode from the show's highly addictive first season.

Top telly at its best
Im a massive tv and film fan and this one of best things I've watched I've seen all 14 season in one go, the story lines are funny, clever, well thought through each episode and linked into the next, very sad at points, poignant, you fall in love with characters as they are very well rounded and you watch them grow up, the medical stuff is spot on very authentic, and imaginative at the same time I would recommend this to all if you love great shows and it's not just medical drama it soooooo much more.Im a massive tv and film fan and this one of best things I've watched I've seen all 14 season in one go, the story lines are funny, clever, well thought through each episode and linked into the next, very sad at points, poignant, you fall in love with characters as they are very well rounded and you watch them grow up, the medical stuff is spot on very authentic, and imaginative at the same time I would recommend this to all if you love great shows and it's not just medical drama it soooooo much more.

Thoroughly entertaining and very more-ish medical drama!!
As a fan of medical dramas, I was reliably informed that Grey's is supposed to be near the very top of the list in terms of entertainment, suspense and good story lines. It didn't disappoint! As a doctor, I find some medical dramas very tedious to watch and frustrating at times. Although this series takes artistic licence with many of the conditions that are seen in the programme, it more than makes up for it in thoroughly absorbing plot lines. The series focuses around a group of newly qualified surgical trainees. It is amusing, entertaining and very more-ish, often leaving you wanting to watch further episodes well into the night. Not as dark as House in terms of its humour but still entertaining. The fact that my fiance (a GP) is now on series 7 says something about the quality of ... Good mix of medical drama and the lives of the character - good value.
I got into Greys Anatomy late and have only seen season 5 & 6. I have to say it is my guilty secret as I love it! I wanted to watch the early seasons and so bought this dvd. The early stories are just as good as the current ones - I am definitely hooked!
