Item is brand new. Arrived sealed in box with plastic and foam. Well packaged. GR-55 as described. It was shipped from over seas. It took about 12 to 13 days for the ebay site to update as described, and then it said shipped and already in US. A relief. Fed Ex gave updates from there each day traveling across US for 2 days and arrived today. Ebay seller is reliable to his description on timing. Overall, it is worth it.

    great image quality, lens, low light, color!

    The image quality is amazing, The colors are true and beautiful. The low light is unmatched at 1.5 lux. The Minolta G series lens is smooth focusing and sharp as can be. It's a great camera for event photography or documentary. You can add on the Sony CF Card reader and foget about shooting tape anymore or use tape as a back-up. Only drawback is that it doesn't have XLR inputs but for $150 you can mount a small unit on the bottom that has two XLR inputs ans still save $1400 with tax.

    Sony HDR-FX 1000 still great in the 2020's

    I bought this camera and used it numerous times in a church broadcast for a live mix. The HDR-FX1000 has outstanding picture quality and easy to use controls. I received numerous compliments for it's picture quality.
