Dark and awful things happen...
This highly original series is more of a dark comedy than a serial drama. I don't know what other shows these reviews are coming from, (the ones that are negative about this show), but I really like this show. It's like the modern day version of the Soprano's with an Irish twist and the Jewish faith added for spice. The show is so rich in characters, and subplots that it's a joy to watch every scene. The only casting flaw I see is Ray's wife, I am not sure if I like her character and I would of rather they selected someone else for the role.This highly original series is more of a dark comedy than a serial drama. Not sure about this one.
If I am really enjoying a box set I find it hard to put down (using a book term) but this did not make me really want to watch the next episode. Could take it or leave it probably will not buy futher seasons.

Just Amazing
So when it first started I wasn't sure if the series would hold my interest, but the writing, performances and direction is just brilliant. I love all the characters (even the real nasty pieces of work). Loved season 1 and the running threads throughout all seasons just get better and enriches the story. Very close to being my favourite tv show ever, but behind breaking bad at the mo, only because I haven't seen season 5 of Ray Donovan yet (released in august 2017).
