I bought this scope for viewing & dslr photography because of it,s fast f4 focal ratio. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the mount & scope. The picture does not do it justice. I considered buying the 10", but glad I did not. The 8" tube is of a considerable size. With the eye pieces & Barlow represents fantastic value for money. I also like the fact the mount can be upgraded to computerised go to, which I shall be taking advantage of when I have the funds. Due to my job & the weather, I have had 10 minutes viewing through my new 200p. I had a look at plaedies, which more than filled the 25mm eyepiece & was crisp & sharp. I look forward to many hours of viewing.

This seems to my inexperienced eyes to be a good scope. The image produced is excellent, once the scope is well colimated. I bought it as a first step into astronomy, but wanting to avoid the various 'toy' scopes out there. After doing some research I decided I wanted a parabolic reflector, of 6" or more, and one with a solid mount. This ticked all the boxes. Its a bit of a monster though, not very portable, but it is possible. Most pics of telescooes online are against a blank background, not helpful for scale. This one, once assembled and balanced, with the EQ mount aligned and the scope pointint at Polaris puts the eyepiece at about 5'11". Focus is nice and smooth, image through the supplied 25mm is very clear, 10mm is bigger but not as crisp.

First time having and using a telescope. Wow! Equitorial mount makes tracking (manually) a breeze. Highly recommend.
