A great (non-fisheye) wide-angle lens
I have a Canon 70D on which I was happily using a Sigma 10-20. I bought a 5D MK2 which is a full frame camera and while the 10-20 fitted physically, there was a permanent vignette like border on all pictures when using the full-frame 5D. Without going in to the technical details, this 12-24 gives great results at 12mm, far better than the 10-20 did on the 70D (equivalent to 16mm). The lens performs well over its range. The lens also works as a reasonable replacement for the 10-20 on the 70D, giving an effective 19-38 instead of 16-32. My only real complaint is the awful lens cap arrangement which lends itself to getting pulled off accidentally.I have a Canon 70D on which I was happily using a Sigma 10-20. Wideangle for all formats
This lens is idealy suited for use with Digital C size sensors and full frame digital or in my case, film camera's. I wanted one which would give me an incredible 12mm on 35mm cameras and be equally useable on digital at an equivalent of 18mm. I knew the lens was well made and incidentally it was a Nikon Fit not Minolta, Note that when using it with C Size sensor you can screw a filter into the first stage lens cap adaptor and it will not vignette. It was in superb condition, and my only reservation is the inability to use Professional graduated filters to control bright skies in lanscapes, and no screw in filters when used on 35mm or full frame digital without vignetting. It's not a fisheye and with care architectural shots can maintain verticals without convergance etc. I reckon it ... A bit of Forward Compatibility there from Nikon ! End

Super Weitwinkel-Zoom für Vollformat...
Ich liebe dieses Objektiv, es verleitet richtet zum Spielen mit dem Weitwinkel. Es sind zwar bei 12mm an den Rändern leichte Auflösungsverluste erkennbar, aber bedenkenlos zu vernachlässigen außer das Bilder wird auf A2 vergrößert. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist typisch für Sigma EX-Objektiv ... einfach TOP!!! Auf die wünschenswerte Lichtstärke von 1:2,8 kann bei diesen Brennweitenbereichen auch noch verzichtet werden. Wenn Sigma dies nachholt wäre das der einzige Grund für mich dieses Objektiv einzutauschen. Die Fotos werden einfach Spitze, eine Vignettierung ist kaum vorhanden in der Praxis bei Offenblende, der HSM sehr schnell. Es macht richtig Spass bei 12mm Verzerrungen zu provozieren um damit das Bild bewusst zu gestalten oder aber verzerrungsfreie Landschaften abzubilden. Eine ... Not for full frame!
I went off one of these reviews saying this lens works on a full frame. No it does not. It's only suited to cropped sensors.
