Good show, very enjoyable rarity from the early 70s
I had heard good reviews about this show on various forums and love UK kids TV from this era in general. Plus it's unlikely to be shown on TV and is a rarity, and it relatively cheap. Anyway it arrived quite promptly. The only drawback that it's Region 2 and wouldn't play on my main DVD player, but it did play on my spare DVD player. My bad, should have checked that first. Just loved the storylines, not to mention the 70s imagery and fashions. Also enjoyed the comentary from Michael McKenzie and Petra Markham and the director (whose name escapes me)on 'Sisters Deadly'. Re-live the 1970s - Pure nostalgia with an excellent bonus documentary.
If you saw Ace of Wands when it was originally broadcast the music and opening title sequence will instantly transport you back to the early 1970s. Yes, the first episodes have been lost, the special effects are basic, and the acting is a little one dimensional. However despite all its short comings it oozes 70's style and it’s great to relive the days before mobile phones, laptops and social networking.
