Ray Stevenson IS The Punisher
While I liked 2004's The Punisher movie, I thought that Thomas Jane didn't have the right physical build for the role. When I heard that Ray Stevenson(who I'd seen on HBO's ROME)was going to play Frank Castle in the next Punisher movie, I said Yeah, that'll work. Using elements from several of Garth Ennis' stories(Ennis wrote over 100 Punisher stories for the Punisher comics)Lexi Alexander crafted a good movie-- I said Good not Great because this movie had about 1/2 the budget of the first movie, and I wasn't thrilled with all the casting choices(Dominic West playing Jigsaw over-acts on occasion,But Doug Hutchinson,and Wayne Knight do nice work as Looney-Bin Jim and Micro respectively, and the Old guy they got to play the Don in the beginning is awful-thankfuuly he's not long for the ... WARNING!!! If you do not like blood, guts, decapitations, mob violence, vulgar scenes of killing and death then this movie is not for you. I started this movie not knowing it was a marvel comic story. I had no idea that there were two other punisher films. ( I found this out later) But you do not need to know the background of the punisher series to enjoy this movie. The opening scene got my attention right away. It was awesome! Frank Castle is the main character in this film; he is “The Punisher”. Earlier in his life his family witnessed a mob massacre, so the mob killed Frank’s entire family. The biggest mistake was leaving him alive. Now he punishes the corrupt killing everyone with no mercy. Then he comes to find his most deadly foes yet, Billy Russoti aka “Jigsaw” and his ... Ray Stevensons (Punisher) did an excellent job portraying this character. He was smooth, ambitious and was an all around dark character. Throughout the film he showed little to no emotion and no remorse for what he does. He is not just punishing the corrupt but killing them violently. He did such a great job. Dominic West (Jigsaw) did a good job as well. Although, he did not sell me on the fact that he was a mob boss. He was edgy and freaky looking. Doug Hutchison (Looney Bin Jim) was my favorite character of the evil. He did an excellent job at portraying a crazy person. He would simply go crazy if he wasn’t killing someone. He was always ready to go and very impatient when it came to the task taking ones life. Anyway I liked this movie it was entertaining. Not much for a story line but it’s great to see a movie with a bunch of hardcore characters. The action is non stop so is the violence! Also if your are into heavy metal/grunge music the soundtrack is awesome 7.5/10* Thank you

Punisher Movie with lots of Blood, Gore, & Violence!!!!
This is the 3rd try making a Punisher Film. This movie is what the Punisher should be. The Punisher is played by Ray Stevenson. His likeness is the Punisher. He portrays the character the way it should have been. The Punisher WarZone movie has plenty of Blood, Gore, Violence, Cursing, etc. This is the most VIOLENT movie of the Marvel movies so far. The only down side is that there is a very weak story. Its cheesy and cheap. The villians are idiots and act stupidly throughout the film. Also there is a lot of lights and colors. Most would say its campy. They released this movie in December! Not smart. When the movie came out, it made about 3 million while the budget was a little over 30 million! Not very good
The movie starts off pretty bad with no explanation as to how he became the punisher, and later when you find out it is a bit different then from the earlier Punisher (which was a great movie)so it doesn't seem to be it's sequel. THey try too hard to make the villians look real evil and only make it cheesy. The story at times has no real connection between scenes or how this person got here, and makes it feel like you missed something. Also a certain scene of a women not trusting the punisher holding a gun to him, to only a few days later following him to his hide out to get away from the criminals hunting her. Great movie.. Not a kids Action Hero movie
It is an All time action movie ..not quite rated for the squimish...but everything a Punisher should be..not taking away from the Thomas Jane and Dolph Lundgren Punisher movies ..but this one depicts more of the Ruthless Punisher whether you Hate him or Love him
