    Amazing sound.

    I collect cassette decks so I own a variety of higher end units from Aiwa, Carver, HK, Luxman, Naka.., Tandberg (440a) and Yamaha and so far this Technics 575 seems to have the more accurate reproduction of recorded music even with Dolby B or C. I say that because no matter what brand, and what kind of tape, but to me,there is always noticeable attenuation of high frequencies when Dolby is on, some less than others.( I know this comment will offend Nakamichi and Tandberg diehards but this is only my personal opinion, sorry.)It's probably the ATC feature. Bias adjust helps some but ATC has automatic EQ, Bias and rec volume calibration. I'm quite happy with this purchase.

    Countdown timer

    This nice deck has a specific feature I've never found on another tape deck. Specifically, the minutes-and-seconds counter operates in fast-forward and rewind mode. (Most models with this kind of counter only operate while the tape is playing, not while winding.) This is very handy if you're making a mix tape. I wind to the end of the side, zero out the counter, then rewind to the start, which gives me a readout of, say, -46:20, the remaining time on the side. As I get to the last 5-10 minutes of the side I can start picking tracks that I know will fit perfectly.

    Great value in a cassette deck

    Works as advertised. Automatic bias and equalization control feature optimizes deck for the tape being used (TDK SA or Maxell XLII). Great for recording and the tapes sound great on my Nakamichi and Yamaha decks. Great Value!!!
