  • Most favourable review

Establishes the youngest Witch in context and establishes her.

A good read, in the usual format fo TP. Possibly aimed at younger readers (10 to 16 ish) but enjoyable all the same. Fills a gap if you’ve read other Discworld tales out of order. Recommended.

  • Pratchett delivers with this chilly book for younger & older readers alike

After a long time away from Discworld, I decided it was time to get back into Pratchett & Wintersmith was the first on the list of those I'd missed. I am, without doubt, a fan although I had inexplicably forgotten this in the midst of 'everyday not having time to read'-ness. Wintersmith, definitely brought me back from the brink of illiteracy! The book is part of the Tiffany Aching series of books for younger readers, but Mr Pratchett has a knack for writing children's books that do not pull punches, do not patronise & generally are suitable for adults & are equally entertaining for the younger & older audience. I devoured the book in a day & a half & it was onto the next one, so from my point of view - wonderful stuff!

  • clever and very entertaining

Fantastic next episode in the story of a young witch learning her trade with the help and protection of some little blue men! Tiffany is 13 and goes to see an Event and unknowingly dances with the Lord of Winter. He falls in love with her. He makes roses of ice for her garden, he puts her face in the middle of every snowflake that falls. It's really the tale of how she extricates herself from this relationship, which she didn't realise had begun, with plenty of interference from the little blue MacFeegles. Laugh out loud funny in places, and also a real heartfelt examination of relationships in all their glory!

  • My new winter tradition!

This has got to be one of my favourite winter read. I love Tiffany. She is actually written like a real teenager. It’s funny and so clever

  • The Wintersmith tells you the basis of the book

Its Terry Pratchett at his best continuing the story of Tiffany Aching and the Nac Mac Feegles little blue men that love to look after Tiffany wether she wants them to or not
