Beyond happy with purchase. Item is superior to how was described. Said was "good" condition when, in reality, it could just about pass for new. It is in perfect condition. The price was extremely reasonable for the book in good condition, unbelievably priced in this condition. Shipping was fast, it arrived before expected. Also impressive was their customer service. A receipt with the email address and a pledge to deal with any concerns was enclosed. In all, an amazing experience!!!

    Great!

I expected a book of poems. Know that it is one story. Besides that, all else, excellent.

  • Teaches children an important life lesson.

I love Shel Silverstein's books. He was a genius who captured life's experiences in what appear, at first glance, to be simple children's stories. The Missing Piece meets the big O is a story about a "missing piece" from a circle. The missing piece wants a circle so it can roll. It spends it's time trying to find the circle it belongs to. It tries to make itself more attractive but has a hard time finding the perfect fit. Finally the piece meets a complete circle who does not need a piece to complete it. The circle encourages the piece to roll on it's own. This simple story has many laughs but teaches a valuable lesson to our children.

  • The Missing Piece Meets the Big O indicates we need to make changes to grow

The Missing Piece Meets the Big O seems to be sort of a continuation of The Missing Piece. It indicates that in order to grow (roll) we have to be able to make changes. These changes may take some time, but we have to try. The missing piece seemed to have become stuck in one spot. It tried other pieces. Finally it found a circle who acted as its mentor. Just as the missing piece had to try and try to learn to change until it was able to roll by itself, instead of being stuck in one spot, so we have to keep on learning and growing and changing ourselves. Shel Silverstein accomplishes this this with his lively text and drawings. It keeps the attention of the child and the adult. My grandchildren enjoy his books.

  • Overcoming Adversity to Accomplish your Goals

In true Silverstien style, this beautifully simple book teaches us life lessons that for some reason are sometimes hard to understand. Roll through life and you will get where you want to be. You can't expect for others to get you through this life and that by doing things yourself, you will wear down the obstacles that make life hard, and soon you will find yourself able to roll. This book as well as any of the Silverstien books is a must have for the developing mind of both children and adult alike.

  • Missing Piece Meets the Big O by Shel Silverstein

I read this book many years ago while going through my divorce. At first I thought it would be corny. However, the wording and pictures capture the importance of "being yourself" & "doing your own thing" so well. The book has been surprisingly inspiring to many friends throughout the years in many different circumstances. I've given this book as a gift to many friends and will continue to do so! ...Kathy : )
