This Acme Silent Dog Whistle 535 has been designed to aid in dog training. The whistle is made from brass-plated nickel, and it is possible to adjust the frequency. It also comes with a protective end cap for the mouth piece to keep it clean between uses. The end cap is fastened to the whistle via a chain. This chain keeps the pieces together, and it provides an easy way to attach the whistle to a key ring or bag.

Our Max can be a bit distracted at times, especially with other dogs in the vicinity, and being a terrier over excitement goes with him and his likes. I have had more success with whistling for him than barking commands. My whistling capability is not faultless and consistent, so I thought to try a dog whistle, and I am astounded. Max returns every time instantly and with full speed! - I have a question mark against the little screw with which I am suppose to lock the whistle at a certain adjustment. Well made whistle, more training needed with it. Previous plastic whistle was having more effect.
I already have an Acme red plastic whistle that my dog responds to really quite well. I felt that the Silent version would be more professional but my dog does not yet have the same interest in this as the red one. I am aware that I will need to adjust his training to suit the different tone. I am currently using the fourth bar setting. Another dog that he plays with does come to the silent whistle very well, with no training. That dogs owner was impressed with the way she responded to the red whistle and bought an Acme Black one. She is not really working well to that tone. More work to be done.I already have an Acme red plastic whistle that my dog responds to really quite well. It’s not “better than expected” but that’s the only option given on the reviews now! You have to press yes or no. If you press yes they ask you why it’s better than expected. If you press no it sounds like a complaint. It’s a no-win situation for the purchaser. The product looks/feels good quality. Delivery was very quick but I haven’t actually tried it yet. So watch this space…

Super quality. This would I am sure survive lots of use in all sorts of weather. The adjustment for whistle level is good and certainly at 200 hundred yards it was no problem for my dog to respond ( rewarded with a treat on returning to me !) I bought a separate lanyard to attach to the whistle which made it really easy to hang around the neck for hands free walking, and it is very light to wear. Overall delighted with the whistle and I am glad I paid a little more money which was reflected in the quality of the whistle.Super quality. Dog whistle It works!
I bought this Acme dog whistle with some scepticism but I can now discreetly stop our neighbours dog constantly barking. As an added bonus it seems to work on my cat who starts scratching the kitchen cupboard when he is begging for food. Will have to try it on one of my other cats who is always pinching the food off the other 2. Haven’t tried it on my children or husband yet!
