About this product

Product Information

Moore makes his fifth appearance as 007 in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, the twelfth Bond film. In this outing, the renowned British double agent must locate a weapons system known as ATAC, which controls Great Britain's submarines, after it is sunk on a ship in the Ionian Sea. While he must contend with a formidable foe in the villain known as Kristatos (Julian Glover), he does have the lovely and talented Melina (Carole Bouquet), the daughter of a scientist killed by Kristatos, on his side.

    A great entry to the Bond series

    For Your Eyes Only is actually my second-favourite Bond film, although I still maintain that 'The Spy Who Loved Me' is the best of the Roger Moore era films. Even though it is my second-favourite Bond movie there are still a few seriously terrible bits, notably the pre-title sequence, the final scenes with a ridiculous Mrs Thatcher impersonation and a parrot, a rather disco-y soundtrack and a quite forgettable theme tune sung by Sheena Easton (who is the only singer to date to actually appear on screen during the title credits.....why though is still a mystery). Over-look those however, and the rest of the film is terrific. Bond is essentially back to basics, and uses his wits and skill throughout the film rather than relying on Q's gadgets.
