    Canon AE1 - another Great Camera from the Canon Range

    For me Canon Cameras are the best. I bought my first one in 1968 an FTb. Later in the 8o's I bought a an AE1 Program and then in November I bought, on Ebay, an A1 with 3 Lenses, bag, all manuals etc, from a guy 4 miles from were I live - Fantastic. Now that I have bought the AE1 I will use the A1 for Colour and the AE1 for Black and White. There is nothing I dislike about these cameras so I dont need to compare with similar models from Nikon etc. Camera magazines do that for me I would like to add to my feedback to the seller of the AE1 now that I have put a roll of film through and acheived excellent results.

    Broken

    My son opened up the camera for Christmas, pressed the shutter, it worked, loaded the shutter for another test, and it didn't work the second time. The shutter clicked but then stayed open. Pressed the battery check button and shutter closed. From then on, the camera has not functioned correctly and no matter how many attempts to fix it, nothing works. Very disappointed.

    Excellent value for money with good build quality.

    I bought this for a number of reasons. I wanted a good camera that was smaller and lighter than my DSLR without compromising on the basic features of my DSLR, I wanted a camera that was just a camera and didn't have all the extra bells and whistles (I find many of the extra features of modern cameras to be too distracting from getting a great image right the first time in camera) and being a bit of a newbie to film I wanted to try out a smaller format (35mm instead of the 120 stuff that my clunky 645 uses). This is a fantastic camera. I'd like to think that most people who have an idea about basic photography could work out how to use this an start taking photos within minutes. It's fairly well contstructed - the durable plastic outer case feels solid to me, and I suspect it is built on a ...
