    The perfect introduction to IFS therapy, in my opinion

    This is a -wonderful- introduction to Internal Family Systems therapy (which I've just embarked upon, both at home and with a counselor trained in this) - with illustrations that are very helpful visuals for orienting to the various simple concepts. I especially would recommend this book, over others, as introductory, because of the author's explanation of "parts" as energetic aspects of one's psyche (to me, "stuck" in one place, as with EFT memory energy that can be released) rather than just focusing on the idea that they are "people" inside oneself, as others do; also his bringing out the spiritual element of this type of inner work. (My husband - not historically an inner worker - was impressed with the book and is willing to take the therapy seriously... and I doubt that would have ...
