    A classic full of memorable quotes: "Snorkers! Good-o!" "All 'ands to stations for leavin' 'arbour! Special sea-dutymen close up!" "If I ring full astern twice, it means only you can save me." My father served on the Flower-class corvette 'Jonquil' during WWII and he associated with the rough-weather galley scene where all the boiling spuds are spilled over the deck! Not only that, meals had to be collected from the galley and then run the gauntlet back to the Mess on the weatherdeck...

    Top stuff

    A film capturing the emotions and involvement of the characters and how they approach the beginning of WW2, how it effects there lives during the war, how it changes them through personal events and ultimately the type of people they have become at the end of the war. And briefly how they will adjust to peace time living. Action shots and sea cinema shots have stood the test of time and possibly say that all the Actors involved was there finest moment as Actors.
