It said that the box was unopened but damaged. The box had some damage as stated but it did'nt seem to have an effect on the well packed tv. We would not have been able to pay the full price so we took a chance that it would be OK. It will be our 57th wedding anniversary on the 1st of June so it's a nice present to each other. We were also 80 earlier this year. So far Love the TV Thank You Curry's
