    Lightweight and easy to use

    The bag is smaller than I would have liked but, otherwise, does the job. However, being able to stand it on an easy-to-reach worktop makes it easy to ladle the fruit into it in batches, It's a lot easier and safer than tying a heavy bag of hot, cooked fruit to a beam, which is what I used to do. The bag itself does not take up the colour of the fruits being strained so stays clean-looking.

    Adequate for small amounts of jam jelly etc.

    The item arrived quickly and was largely as I expected. There were 5 items + 1 jelly/jam bag, a metal ring and 3 legs. The 3 legs are screwed into the metal ring and the jelly bag has an elastic top to stretch over the metal ring after the legs have been attached. The information says to scald the bag before use, in which you would need to take care not to scald the elastic. This straining system would work good but it cannot be used with a large bowl or jug and the legs are not flexible at all. This item could only be used with small amounts of jam or jelly. The cost of the item with the postage is acceptable but for 6 jars of jam/jelly etc you would need a larger bag and support system.

    Jelly bag and stand

    This is an excellent piece of equipment and is not expensive. The stand is sturdy, fits easily onto my large baking bowl and supports the jelly bag perfectly. The bag itself holds more fruit than I initially thought it would, the elasticated band at the top is a good tight fit and it all washes well after use. I'm delighted with it.

    Simple and effective. Only criticism is that I think the bag would be better in a pointed shape as you get drippage issues with this one. So I'll probably make a better shaped bag.

    Ideal for home use

    The jelly bag is very fine mesh so you get a good strain for jelly. I’d say if you’re making a lot of jam then the bag is fairly small. But it works very well. The best thing is that the frame all unscrews and then it takes up very little storage space.
