  • Vintage Russian Big Muff sound, in a small package!

I own a 2006 EHX Russian Big Muff (last year those were actually produced in Russia, I believe), and I bought this to be a replacement for that on my travel pedalboard. Although it doesn't sound exactly like that old pedal (and it's not supposed to, since this mimics the older green ones) I was blown away by how powerful this thing sounds. It's not as crisp and raunchy as the old one, but it's got a massive low end, tons of volume (you have to be careful when setting the volume knob) and you get the choice of making it crunchier with the tone knob. That being said, the two sounds definitely belong to the same family. You do get what you would expect from a vintage Russian Big Muff. Overall, great buy. It provides the same kind of fuzz I was looking for on a much smaller package. It's literally smaller than a standard BOSS pedal, or the standard case of an MXR, TC Electronic, or EarthQuaker. Beautiful finish. Also, if you're getting from the same buyer (myguitarsupply.com), the price was great and it arrived all the way to Mexico exactly when promised, in great condition. Thanks!

  • Russian demon in a little box

This thing is gnarly! Great pedal at a great price! As its been said, this version has a lot of low end and more mids than most muffs, the gain is supposed to be smoother, but i think it is a really savage pedal. Its perfect for what i play which is punk/hc/stoner/sludge and as a power trio, the beefy bass heavy sound makes the guitars really thick. I just Wish the enclosure was big like the 90s version but love the sounds from this little box, i really dont get this “pedalboard friendly“ thing. Anyway, It is my favorite fuzz pedal and i tried several others.

  • Electro Harmonix Green Big Muff Reissue

Exactly what I expected and hoped for after owning several vintage originals, This pedal nails it with tone and bite, it has quickly become one of my favorite fuzz pedals. Absolute fantastic value at $65 and I love the fact it takes up very little real estate on my pedal board which is always a plus.

  • One Of The Best Muffs

To my ears, this is the most focused sounding muffs, with sweet tone and still plenty of sustain. I don’t use the muff as my main sound, but it sounds great stacked with other pedals. I have the Triangle, the Ram’s Head and this one, and they all share that quality. I love their sustain and harmonic feedback!

  • Great Muff

This is the best sounding Big Muff you can get in a compact box for the price. It's got a more controllable fuzz that dances around the line of distortion. Way Huge and Wren & Cuff do well, but the pedal this one was modeled after beats them both. It's great for both bass and guitar. The tone knob is usable in any position. It doesn't get too bright or too muffled. The amount of fuzz can reach to the border of that Velcro sputtering fuzz, but not in an annoying way. This is the best fuzz I've ever had.

  • EHX hit a homerun

I have an original one from the mid nineties. This sounds very, very close, but with modern features. This easily stands up to boutique clones. This is not a subtle effect. The pedal generates massive bass that can't really be dialed out, but that's part of the allure.

  • Dirty Filthy Fuzzing Green Goodness

Awesome pedal. Had problems keeping my original lil big muff roadworthy, so thought a modern version might be a bit more hassle free. Has extra tone control so a bit more flexible too. Exactly what I expected it to be. Green is Good.

  • Just as awesome as legend has it.

Wow, I understand all of the comparisons and pedal "shoot-outs" with the mean greenie topping them all. I had one of the originals in the early '70's and this little guy did those memories right. I am impressed!

  • Great sound, fun to play

This is a sweet pedal with a lot of creamy sustain and aggressive fuzz — I'm getting both good cello-like tones out of it, and snarling aggression when I need it. It does have a bit of a "pop" when I hit the footswitch. I don't like that. But it seems to be a fact of life for true-bypass pedals and since I'm not playing at Wembley stadium anytime soon, I can't spend too much time worrying about that.

  • The real deal

A very good reissue of this great fuzz. I play in a Floyd tribute band and this works well with my tone-scape. Highly recommended.
