"This edition of Real Estate Market Analysis provides valuable insights and a great "how to" handbook for market analysts, planners, developers, lenders and students. In addition to the different types of residential, retail, office and industrial project examples, it explains the nuances one must consider, and includes a great guide to data sources. Everyone from long-time practitioners like myself to first-year students can learn from this book." --Valerie S. Kretchmer, President of a real estate and urban planning consulting firm, " Real Estate Market Analysis 3rd Edition is an essential resource at our real estate advisory services firm. Synopsis
Maximize opportunities and minimize risk with this practical guide for analyzing real estate markets. Whether you are a developer considering the suitability of a location, a lender evaluating financial feasibility, a planner gauging the best land uses for a community, or a public official reviewing proposals and incentives, this book explains how to assess development potential. Packed with illustrations and examples, you will learn how to define market areas, inspect proposed development sites, evaluate competitive properties, analyze supply and demand; find and interpret economic and demographic data; and understand the unique characteristics and trends affecting residential, retail, office, hotel, industrial, and mixed-use property types., The standard introductory guide on analyzing real estate markets, the third edition of Real Estate Market Analysis includes comprehensive updates from previous editions while providing a practical "how-to" for evaluating several property types. In addition to highlighting development trends and explaining recognized research and analysis methods, the third edition provides an updated and expanded list of information sources, both national and local, for a wide range of property types. It captures a transformative decade's worth of market changes that allows students, practicing real estate professionals, and government officials to understand how to inspect proposed development sites, evaluate competitive properties, conduct interviews with competitors, and find information. Topics covered include the purpose, content, and users of market analysis; defining market areas; how to analyze demand and supply; finding, interpreting, and presenting economic and demographic data; and understanding the characteristics of several property types, including residential, retail, office, industrial/warehouse, hotels, and mixed-use development.

The book I bought was reasonably priced and when it arrived it was in the 'Like New' condition specified in the listing. However, when I saw that the seller had not shipped the book after more than 15 days had passed since my order I felt I must write to say that I had actually placed an order with the seller and inquire when it planned to send the book. The brusque reply was that a tracking number was available, but no number HAD been created until I pointed out that I had placed the order.
