Great and simple camera. Pictures are above average and especially for this price range. You do have to have a computer to set up your time/date stamp so it can be a bit of a pain for some people as it cannot be done right on the cam. It also has no hole for a cable lock but you can make your own with small wire from your local hardware store and two clothesline crimp clips. Just slip it through the strap hole and add a small lock. Won't break the bank if stolen either. All around good cam for beginners or if you need multiple cams for your property. There is a red glow so keep your cam a little higher than eyesight and angle downwards.

I tried to go cheap to replace a few of my cameras and went with these. It as a total waste of money. All camera set up has to be done on your computer and with the unit next to you if you want accurate time stamp. No real adjustments. The biggest problem is the limited range. I tested it by standing 10 steps and moving back 10 steps at a time. It took the first one and that was it!!! The quality of the pic is barely acceptable when it does take the pic. I bought 4, used three and out of the three one already malfunctions. During darkness if takes a pic every 3 seconds !!! Next time I'll go back to my bushnells. Triple the price but at least I can use em.

Haven't used it enough to do much of an in depth review but have a few observations. Cheap, easy to set up and takes reasonable photo's. From the small amount of testing I have done walking back and forth in front of the camera it appears to have a fast response but is let down by only taking one pic and then delaying the next one for 10 sec's. Often catches the target before it is properly in the frame and after the 10 sec delay its too late for the next one. It would be much better if it could be set to take 3 shots one sec apart with each trigger. Does not suffer from endless false triggers like some camera's I have used. Can't comment on durability or battery life yet. Over all I would say good value.

Dimensions: 4.75" (H) x 4.0" (W) x 2.0" (D), 5.6 ounces (w/o batteries) This 6mp trail camera model uses 8 AA batteries to provide power for up to 9 months (depending on number of photos taken). I have deployed this camera for security purposes for three weeks and it has already paid for itself by catching a thief. It has taken more than 300 photos (half during night) on the initial set of new Duracell Coppertop brand batteries and batteries currently test out at 1.498 volts. Color photos by day, black & white by night. The photo coverage area is approximately 45 degrees wide by 15 degrees high. This unit does not record video, only still photos. The night LED "flash" has an effective range of about 10-30 feet. Closer, and the subject tends to wash out....farther, and the subject tends to darken and lose details. The 14-LED “low glow” flash visually is a faint red to human eyes, and unless you are looking at the unit when it flashes, you would likely not see the flash. However, the 15th LED, in the center of the flash unit is several times brighter than the flash LEDs and triggers on for approximately 1 second each time a photo is taken (day or night). During a night photo, the unit also emits a very faint audible "click" noise when the flash is triggered, enough that a deer could register it within 20-25 feet. Photos are good quality for 6mp, with data compression to less than 550KB per photo for color, 425KB for black & white when stored on the owner furnished SD card. One nice feature of the unit is that if the SD card is not inserted or not recognized, the center LED in the flash unit will blink, alerting you to the problem. My unit has an initial trigger time of less than 1 second for the first photo, however there is a minimum reset time before taking each subsequent photo of about 10-11 seconds (storing to a 30mb/sec speed SD card). The manufacturer specs mislead you into believing this unit will take a photo at 1 second intervals...it doesn't). I would prefer a faster subsequent photo capability (less than 3 seconds, but preferably at the advertised 1 second) as game and thieves tend to move quickly thru the camera view. The satin-finish, olive-drab color case is robust and blends in fairly well in a natural environment. There is an extended locking eyelet molded into the case that will accept up to a 3/16 cable or lock shank. The two molded strap guides molded into the case are not as robust as they could/should be for long-term, repeated use. The case clam-shell has a rubber weather-resistant seal and the hinge appears adequate, however, the two securing latches are not as robustly designed as they should have been and have the potential to break over time due to weathering, UV degradation, and any rough handling. One unfounded complaint that is circulating about the Primos Bullet-Proof series of hunting cameras is the date/timer setup requirement of having to program the time into the unit every time the SD card is removed for downloading. This is false. You initially must program the unit with your local time, using the built-in utility program that is transferred from the unit to your SD card. You run this utility from the SD card on your computer to set the date/time on the card and quickly insert it into the unit to program the date/time into the unit. Once initially programmed, the unit’s internal clock will maintain the date & time when turned off and during battery changes. (I have had this unit turned off overnight with batteries installed and I have pulled the batteries for 30 minutes without the unit losing date or time memory or accuracy. I have not tested for longer durations as I assume these times to be practicable “field use” situations). In conclusion, I am overall satisfied with the overall quality of the unit and images vs. unit cost (under $40 US). In my opinion, drawbacks include the long interval between subsequent photos and mounting/door latch weaknesses. Read full review

Good photos, but a bit grainy. Very consistently reliable, but less so at night. The infrared flash is a bit limited as is the range. It takes a full second to react to stimulus, causing some photos to miss the subject if it is moving fast. My camera is used for intruder security. It caught burglars casing my home. Bottom line: Good for recording property trespass. It's cheap enough that loss by theft could be handled. Best camera for the price.
