An unapologetic heavy metal masterpiece. Highly underrated band "Hell" has been through lineup changes since forming in 1982, including the death of their original lead singer. However, if you like tight instrumentation, blistering riffs, and a singer with a noted theatrical presence and an incomparable soaring voice, you will like Hell: Chapter and Curse. While rife with satanic imagery and lyrics, the "think for yourself" message is a clear and formidable. With multiple genre influences including thrash, progressive and dark metal, the band syncs these influences while maintaining originality. Lyrically, this album might have you reaching for Wikipedia to understand a meaning, its well worth the journey. Look forward to more from Hell!

HELL's Curse & Chapter, combines gleeful infernal lyrics, reminiscent of VENOM's with a more clever sense of humour, with excellent NWOBHM-inspired metal with a few mild thrash metal touches here and there. Kevin's vocal delivery is still as manic and twisted as ever. He conveys some of the most snide and mocking anti-christian lyrics heard in Metal. The guitar tone is edgy and muscular. Andy brings some awesome semi-technical leads, crazy hooks as well as many twists and turns along with tempo changes. The production is powerful anD clear, typical of Andy Sneap's. This is a superb release.
