These remote management boards are great, allowing for full remote control of the host server via ethernet, I will list some pro's and con's of the DRAC4 board: Pro's: - Can be used to turn the system on and off (forcibly if needed). - Can emulate a virtual floppy drive or cdrom from image or captured drive for remote installation of software or os. - Can monitor and log events. - Uses a separate ethernet port so it can be independent from the host network. - Can be accessed in a webpage environment. - Easy to install, no tooling required. - Lets you access the host server at bios level. - Is not os dependent and can run under any os and non if needed. Con's: - Uses older browser standards. - Uses older Java 5 standards. - Not able to use DVD images as the virtual drive. Would be nice if there was an updated application/utility to access the device as these servers are still used even though they are aged.Read full review
