This a a funny story of a rabbit who is not looking where he's going and gets stuck in the street. The illustrations in all of Richard Scarry's books are great, full of detail and things for the little ones to notice. This book is quite short, and written very simplistic language appropriate for 1-2 year olds. I'd recommend getting Richard Scarry's Lowly Worm Storybook, which has this same story in it, written in a bit more detailed language, and 3 other very captivating stories, including the hilarious (my toddler thinks) "The Talking Bread". If your child is very young you can get a better value with the Lowly Worm Storybook and substitute simpler language until your child is ready to hear the whole thing.
I got this book for my grandson at the request of his mother (my daughter). She loved all the Scarry books as she was beginning to be interested in books. The situations the characters get themselves into are always ones that children can relate to. The illustrations are fun and the words over time, help a child begin to have fun in reading. We are hoping that using her favorite books will spark something in her son's enjoyment of reading.
Listed as "like new" ....it was not like new, there was a child's writing in it.
